You probably suffer from urticaria factitia

If your wheals take the form of stripes and exclusively occur in places where you have scratched or rubbed yourself, then in all likelihood you are suffering from urticaria factitia, or dermographic urticaria. Specifically, it is acute dermographic urticaria if the symptoms have existed for less than 6 weeks and chronic dermographic urticaria if the symptoms have been occurring for more than 6 weeks. More information about the clinical picture of that disease is found in the section Forms of urticaria / Physical Urticaria / Dermographic urticaria or Urticaria facititia of this website.

If your symptoms sometimes or often, but not exclusively, can be provoked by rubbing or scratching, then go to question 5 to check whether another form of urticaria might also be present in addition to the dermographic urticaria.
